Le 2,4-diamino-1,3,5- triméthoxybenzène ou l'un de ses sels d'addition avec un acide confère aux cheveux des colorations bleues puissantes lorsqu'il est associé aux p-phénylènediamines ou rouges lorsqu'il est associé aux p-aminophénols, en milieu alcalin oxydant.
