A coater apparatus (10) is disclosed for applying coating material onto a moving web. The apparatus (10) includes an applicator (16) having a first and a second end, the applicator (16) defining a feeding chamber (22) for the reception therein of the coating material (12). The applicator (16) includes a fixed lip (24) which extends from the feeding chamber (22) towards the web (14). A movable lip (26) extends from the feeding chamber (22) such that when the movable lip (26) is disposed in a first disposition thereof, the movable lip (26) cooperates with the fixed lip (24) for defining therebetween a slot for guiding the coating material (12) from the feeding chamber (22) towards the moving web (14). However, when the movable lip (26) is pivoted away from the fixed lip (24) to a second and third disposition thereof, flushing and cleaning of the applicator (16) is permitted.
L'invention concerne un appareil de revêtement (10) permettant d'appliquer un matériau de revêtement sur une toile mobile. L'appareil (10) comprend un applicateur (16) présentant des première et seconde extrémités et définissant une chambre d'alimentation (22) recevant le matériau de revêtement (12). L'applicateur (16) comprend une lèvre fixée (24) s'étendant à partir de la chambre d'alimentation (22) en direction de la toile (14). Une lèvre mobile (26) s'étend à partir de la chambre d'alimentation (22) de manière que lorsque la lèvre mobile (26) est disposée dans une première disposition, elle (26) coopère avec la lèvre fixée (24) afin de définir entre celles-ci une fente permettant de guider le matériau de revêtement (12) à partir de la chambre d'alimentation (22) en direction de la toile mobile (14). Cependant quand la lèvre mobile (26) est pivotée à distance de la lèvre fixée (24) dans une deuxième et troisième disposition, l'applicateur (16 ) peut être rincé et nettoyé.
