A device for storing water hoses (1) provided with afterglowing means comprises a container (2) adapted to receive a hose laid through wave-like folds in consecutive lengths running to and fro along at least one side (2') of the container and members (3-6) arranged to keep two consecutive hose lengths spaced apart so as to make the surfaces of the hose accessible for light applied from outside towards said container side.
