Abstract of the Disclosure An aqueous-alkaline, optionally organic solvent-containing decoating solution is disclosed which contains a compound of the general formula R- SO3X where X denotes a monovalent cation, R denotes R1-O(CH2.CH2O)n-; R1 being a hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms and n being a number from 1 to 6, or an aryl group or an alkylaryl group, and where the -SO3X group is bonded to the glycol or aryl radical. The solution contains about 0 to 15% by weight of at least one organic solvent having a higher boiling point than water. The invention also relates to a process for producing printing plates obtained by electrophotographic means, which com- prises treating the photoconductor layer with the decoating solution according to the invention.
