HOE 91/S 038 ABSTRACT FREQUENCY CONVERSION DEVICE AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME The fiber type frequency conversion element of the present invention is composed of a core comprising an organic nonlinear optical material and a clad comprising polymeric organic material. The organic nonlinear optical material preferably has a melting point of from 70 to 200°C, and the high polymeric organic material has a melting point which is higher than that of the nonlinear optical material by at least 20°C.
