A modular device (100) for providing a passage through a partition in a structure. The modular device (100) includes a riser housing (4b) comprising a chamber(10) fluidly coupling a base opening (6) in a base portion (4a) with a distal opening (8) at a distal end (8a) and a shaped cavity housing (102) comprising a shaped cavity (106), a primary opening (120) and a secondary opening (104). A connector assembly (110) releasably coupling the distal opening (8) at the distal end (8a) of the riser housing (4b) to the secondary opening (104) on the shaped cavity housing (102). An intumescent material (26) is preferably located in the chamber (10).
