A B S T R A C T Pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of intermittent claudication. These compositions contain at least one hydroxyethyl starch and at least one nootropic compound, such as for example piracetam, and are preferably in the form of aqueous solutions or suspensions. It has been found that the nootropics potentiate the therapeutic action of the hydroxyethyl starches in the treatment of intermittent claudication.
