ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Tree trunks that are to be fed into processing machinery pass through a plurality of groups of centering rollers that can be positioned symmetrically. The centering rollers that are located at the start and the end of the trunk are moved into position on the tree trunk. Subsequently arranged milling heads produce guide surfaces on the tree trunk, on which the tree trunk is supported and guided by guide bodies immediately thereafter.
