A batch fermentation is carried out continuously or semicontinuously using strains of Streptomyces clavuligerus ATCC 27064 or mutants thereof. The fermentation process is carried out with a strict control of the soluble phosphate in the medium, both at the beginning and throughout the process. As a carbon source, lipids, preferably triglycerides can be used. Substantial increases in the production of the antibiotic are obtained.
On effectue une fermentation en lots, en continu ou en semi-continu, en utilisant des souches de Streptomyces clavuligerus ATCC 27064 ou ses mutants. Le procédé de fermentation s'effectue sous contrôle rigoureux du phosphate soluble présent dans le milieu, tant au début que pendant le processus de fermentation. Comme source de carbonne on peut utiliser des lipides, de préférences des triglycérides. On obtient des augmentations significatives de la production de l'antibiotique.
