The golf swing is complex. It requires coordination of arms, hands, shoulders, body, head, feet and legs. The arms: ~ At address of the ball, should both be extended. (Fig. 1) ~ At top of the backswing, should both be raised. The rear arm should be bent or hinged at the elbow. (Fig. 2) ~ During transition of downswing ("Power Swing") from top to impact, both should move down to full extension. (Fig. 3) The "Power Swing" should be automatic, tension free and developed through gravity force and muscular reflex only. Other conscious muscle force or influence during the short time duration of the swing can cause undesirable effects. (Premature turn of the shoulders. Cross over of the arms. Deviation of swing plane or flight path of the ball. Reduced ball velocity. Etc.)
