A vibrating device for surfacing concrete. The device comprises a surfacing blade, a steering assembly, a motor, a vibration causing assembly and a transmission connecting the motor to the vibration causing assembly. The steering assembly comprises a handle assembly. The handle assembly comprises at least one arm mounted to the blade at one end and having is grip member at another end thereof. The arm comprises telescoping portions that are moveable relative to each other so as to vary the length of the arm. The vibration causing assembly comprises a shaft assembly and a double bearing for supporting this shaft assembly. The transmission comprises a flexible axle. A flexible seal is mounted about this flexible axle. When the motor is in operation it causes the transmission to rotate with the transmission imparting a vibratory motion to the blade.
