ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of treating human blood-clotting factor product to reduce the infectivity of a virus, such as hepatitis- or AIDS-causing virus or cytomegalovirus, if present. The method comprises the steps of lyophilizing the product or obtaining the product prelyophilized and then heating the product, while it is lyophilized or prelyophilized, for and at a plurality of different time-and- temperature combinations, and then reconstituting the product.
