APPLICATION FOR LETTERS PATENT FOR "FIRE RATED CEILING RUNNER SYSTEM WITH EXPANSION ACCOMMODATING MEANS" ABSTRACT A suspended ceiling grid system is disclosed which can accom- modate longitudinal expansion of inverted tee runners upon expo- sure to heat. Buckling is prevented in the inverted tee runners which continue to support ceiling tile to thereby provide a fire rated grid system. Slidable trim caps engage inverted tee flanges to provide a continuous decorative appearance along the bottom otherwise exposed portions of the runners.
