Abstract of the Disclosure The invention relates to an apparatus for the continuous electrochemical purification of contaminated liquids. The apparatus includes an electrocoagulation chamber containing an electrolyte and having upstanding soluble elongated electrodes therein. Electrolyte is introduced into the electrocoagulation chamber and flows the electrolyte between the electrodes. Contaminated liquid is introduced into the electrocoagulation chamber while it contains the electrolyte. The electrodes are disposed laterally spaced from each other and extending in parallel relationship, and a plurality of solid elongated insulative partitions are disposed next adjacent to the electrodes or between adjacent electrodes to define jointly with the electrodes a plurality of separate liquid flow paths between the next adjacent electrodes to preclude mixing and turbulence of the electrolyte as it flows through the flow path.
