ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electromechanical generator for producing pulses to set or correct an electronic digital display is disclosed. In one embodiment described two spring contacts are engageable with two respective groups of conductive abutments. Corresponding abutments of one group are staggered slightly relative to those of the other group. The two groups are arranged on arcs of two different concentric circles. The contact springs are con- nected to a voltage source and are rotatable manually or by means of a step- ping motor about an axis coinciding with centre of the concentric circles. Rotation in one direction derives a first series of pulses and rotation in the other derives a different series. The pulses derived are processed in a logic circuit and passed to a forward-backward counter to derive a control signal for the digital display.
