ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A driving circuit for supplying to the coil of an electromagnet a controlled current derived from an unregulated voltage source comprises a current switch and a current detector which is responsive to current flowing in the coil, and further includes a bistable circuit having a controlled triggering level to close the switch following a switch command and to maintain it in the on state until the current flowing in the coil reaches a pre-established value which is automatically adjusted in dependence on the supply voltage.
