ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Amino-amides having a molecular weight between 500 and 1000 obtained by the reaction of polymeric fatty acids with poly(oxyethylene) diames are readily compatible with water in all proportions and form clear, aqueous solutions which exhibit rust preventive characteristics and have excellent lubricating properties. The aqueous lubricating solu- tions have superior extreme pressure properties and exhibit rust preven- tive properties not heretofore possible with water-soluble dimer-based lubricants.
