ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE : A tire of the radial or crossing ply carcass type with an asymmetric tread reinforcement is improved due to the fact that a correction block is interposed between the asymme- tric tread reinforcement and the carcass reinforcement. This correction block consists of two plies of cables which form with the longitudinal direction angles of opposite sign, each at most equal to one-third of the smallest angle formed with this same direction by the cables of the asymmetric tread reinforcement. The correction block is preferably centered or the equatorial plane of the tire.
