Description

ABSTRACT A material spreader for spreading sand, salt or the like. The spreader is mounted on a vehicle or a trailer with the material being discharged from the rear. The spreader includes a fiberglass hopper and hopper housing with a stain- less steel endless conveyor for reducing corrosion and wear. A spinner assembly, used for spreading the material, and the conveyor are driven by a variable speed engine. The engine controls the speed of the conveyor and spinner assembly independently of the speed of the vehicle.
