ABSTRACT Screening apparatus is disclosed in which problems with plugging of screen openings has been solved through periodic back-flushing of filtrate through the screen openings by means of at least one forward and backward moveable screen body, whereby each screen body interior liquid volume is brought to vary with its movement due to the screen body being supported at both ends by bearings with different cross section areas. The screening appa- ratus is mainly used in connection with flowing suspensions of fiber containing cellulosic material in liquid.
