ABSTRACT New cephalosporins are disclosed which correspond to the general formula Image (I) in which A represents a phenyl, 4-hydroxyphenyl, 2-thienyl, 2-furyl or 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl group, Y represents hydrogen or methoxy, Het represents one of a series of heterocyclic groups, E represents hydrogen or a removable protective group and R represents a cyclopropyl or amino or substituted amino group. The compounds 1 and their salts which exhibit valuable pharmacological properties, particularly antibiotic activity. The new compounds may be produced by methods of the type normally used for producing analogous compounds.
