ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Compounds are disclosed of the formula Image wherein Het is an imidazole or thiazole ring optionally substituted by lower alky and R is hydrogen or a lower alkyl group and phar- maceutically acceptable salts thereof. These compounds have histamine H2-receptor antagonist activity and useful as inhibitors of histamine stimulated gastric acid secretion.
