SO1255 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a sync generator for a color television system, a carrier signal having a frequency of four times the color subcarrier frequency 4fsc is counted down to produce a color subcarrier signal as well as vertical and horizontal synchronizing signals for an NTSC or PAL-M color system. A color framing signal, which indicates a Predetermined point in the four sequentially repeating color fields making up an NTSC color signal, or in the eight sequentially repeating color fields making up a PAL-M color signal, is generated in response to the carrier signal, and a re-timing circuit establishes synchronism between the color subcarrier and the color framing signal. Burst-flag and line odd-even signals are also produced for the PAL-M system.
