FLUID FILTERING DEVICE .. :. . .. .. Abstract of the Disclosure A fluid filtering device includes a housing having a chamber open at one end and a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet in fluid communication with the chamber. A filter element is disposed within the chamber between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet whereby fluid flowing into the housing through the fluid inlet passes through the filter element and out through the fluid outlet in the housing and is secured to one axial end to a cap so that removal of the cap automatically removes the filter element and the cap cannot be replaced without a filter element. A fluid bypass valve is also secured to the cap and bypasses the fluid flow around the filter element from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet upon a predetermined pressure differential being produced across the filter element.
