ABSTRACT An improved overcap for aerosol containers, or those of a similar type, where dispensing is controlled at the top of the container by a finger-operated spray valve. This over- cap comprises, in part, a resilient inner shell portion enclose- able over the spray valve, and which snaps or otherwise locks to- gether with the container. Strategically placed, radially aligned webs or struts connect the inner shell to the surrounding outer shell, and translate deforming force to the inner shell to re- lease the overcap responsive to applying pressure strategically to the outer shell. This overcap provides an effective deterrent to the operation of aerosol containers by small children.
