ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Crystalline type-A zeolite powder having an average particle diameter of 7 to 8.5 µm is produced by passing the components sodium tetrasilicate and alkali-metal aluminate liquor under defined conditions simultaneously into a reactor containing water, followed by stirring, whereupon further alkali metal aluminate liquor is added first and further sodium tetrasilicate solution is added thereafter. The zeolite powder thus obtained can be used as a phosphate substitute in detergents.
