ABSTRACT A method of and apparatus for building construction using a series of tubular elements which are locked together in side-by-side relationship to form a building structure. Each tubular element includes a series of plates interconnected by two or more spaced bands, the bands of adjacent tubular elements being overlapped. The elements may be locked together by rods passing between the overlapped bands or by transverse tension rods, by the interlock of the bands in slots on the adjacent elements or by a combination of these. The plates may be solid or in the form of mesh and covering sheets may be applied to one or more of the elements. -1-
