Abstract There is disclosed a method and an apparatus for degassing of paper stock. In such systems a stock level has hitherto been maintained in a degassing tank, in which there is subpressure, by throttling control of a recirculated stock flow, in combination with a weir provided in the degassing tank, or as has been suggested recently, with a parting wall, provided below the stock level, with a flow opening. The characterizing feature of the invention is the fact that the level control is provided by control of the rotation rate of a rotary pump, which is used for feeding the degassing tank.
