Abstract A combination no-back brake and torque limiter assembly including an input shaft and an output shaft and with a brake including interleaved brake plates associated with the output shaft and with the brake plates normally spring-urged into pressure engagement, when there is no drive of the input shaft, to prevent rotation of the output shaft to provide the no-back brake operation. Torque-responsive structure connected between the input and output shafts senses input shaft torque to initially cause release of the pressure engagement of the brake to permit rotation of the output shaft and also senses a maximum torque condition to re-engage the brake for torque limiting operation.
