A DIGITAL TYPE ULTRASONIC HOLOGRAPHY APPARATUS Abstract of the Disclosure A digital type ultrasonic holography apparatus has circuits for generating a clock pulse with a predeter- mined periodicity and for directing an ultrasonic pulse beam to an object in synchronism with the clock pulses. Reflected waves of the ultrasonic pulse beam from the object are converted into digital pulses. Circuits detect the time coincidence between the clock pulses and the digital pulses contained in a predetermined gate period to produce as output a coincidence signal when they coincide. An ultrasonic generating and receiving transducer is moved to a desired position and the hologram of the object is displayed using the coincidence signal as a luminance signal and a position signal from the transducer as a deflection signal, whereby the hologram is displayed in a fringe pattern, the position and shape of the object being measured from this fringe pattern.
