S P E C I F I C A T I O N PURIFICATION OF PHOSPHORIC ACIDS A B S T R A C T Wet process phosphoric acid of increased purity may be obtained by solvent extraction of the acid in one stage with methyl isobutyl ketone to give a solvent extract, which is contacted in one stage with water or aqueous solution of base to liberate substantially all of the acid from the extract.
