ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention is concerned with aqueous filler suspensions of inorgano-oxidic material and a dispersant which contain as dispersant an aqueous solution of maleic acid/vinyl alkoxy silane copolymers. The aqueous filler suspensions according to the invention have distinctly lower viscosities than conventional systems and are stable. They are primarily used for coating paper, they serve for example to increase the whiteness and covering power or opacity of paper.
