WHEEL-SKI ASSEMBLY ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The wheel-ski assembly includes a base upturn- ed at the front end and bifurcated for approximately the last half to define a wheel channel between the two rear and parallel portions. A beam is secured to each side of the base adjacent the outer edges thereof and a wheel mount- ing assembly is mounted on each beam approximately half way along the length thereof and adjacent the front end of the wheel channel. The wheel mounting includes a mounting block supported vertically in each beam having a vertical bore formed therethrough into which a cylindrical support enga- ges in adjustable relationship with the block. An axle bearing surmounts the wheel support and a wheel axle spans the wheel channel and engages within the axle bearings above the plane of the beam with a wheel mounted on the axle. The lower perimeter of the wheel extends below the lower surface of the base. A spreader bar extends transversely between the two rear and parallel portions spanning the wheel channel rearwardly of the wheel and small bogie wheels are mounted inboard of the rear portions adjacent the rear ends thereof. In one embodiment, the wheel is adjustable vertically by hy- draulic pressure so that the degree of penetration of the wheel can be controlled within limits to suit the landing or take-off surface conditions.
