Abstract of the Disclosure This invention relates to a process for removing residual mercaptan from latices of high nitrile polymers which contain some unreacted nitrile monomer, by adjusting the pH of the latex to preferably from about 9 to 10.5 with an aqueous solution of hydroxide ions.
