PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF ANTHRAQUINONE DYESTUFF MIXTURES Abstract of the Disclosure A process for the manufacture of anthraquinone dyestuff mixtures by brominating one mol of a diphenyl ether of the formula Image or of a mixture of such compounds, wherein R1 denotes a hydrogen atom or a phenyl or phenoxy group, with a quan- tity of bromine between 1 and 2 mols, if R1 denotes a hydro- gen atom, or with a quantity of bromine bet- ween 0.9 and 2 mols, if R1 denotes a phenyl or phenoxy group, and reacting the resulting bromination product with a molar quantity, corresponding to the degree of bromi- nation, of a monoaminoanthraquinone or a mixture of mono- aminoanthraquinones, which obtained anthraquinone dyestuff mixtures are useful for deing thermoplastics, especially linear polyesters.
