28.8.1978 PHB 32605 ABSTRACT Linear amplifier. High-gain linear amplifier comprising n-MOS transistors having a load in the form of two depletion mode transistors connected in cascode. The variation of thres- hold voltage VT with back bias VSB of the cascode load transistors is compensated by applying a voltage in the opposite manner to the VT-VsB variation. A way of producing the compensating voltage is to connect an enhancement mode transistor in cascode with a depletion mode transistor. The drain of the enhancement transistor is connected to both the source of the deple- tion transistor and the common connection of their gates which are connected to the gates of the load transistors In fabricating the amplifier as an integrated circuit, the amplifier may be a long tail pair amplifier.
