ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Protecting device for the edges of boxes, cartons or the like, especially, but not exclusively, on spots where ropes or lashings are tied around the objects, and generally but not exclusively with a right angular cross section, and which at the vertex of the angle has an outward protruding arcuate shape covering threequarter or substantially three- quarter of a circle, and where the sides of the angle may be sent outward at their outer ends and/or provided with wave-shaped outward protrusions, and which generally form a rod from which pieces of desired length may be cut off.
