- 1- Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for processing a video signal. The apparatus is comprised of a unit for providing a second signal of which the value is a measure of the depth of the scene represented by the video signal as a function of position. A unit is provided for combining the video signal with the second signal. A method is also provided for processing a video signal representing a scene; the method includes the steps of combining the video signal with a second signal the value of which is a measure of the depth of the scene as a function of position.
