ABSTRACT In a process for classifying catalyst particles suitable for use in moving beds, the particles are subjected to a first separation on an inclined conveyor belt in order to remove non- spherical particles, followed by a further separation on an inclined vibrating table in order to remove non-spherical and/or non-homogeneous particles. The particles can be subjected to a sieving step prior to or simultaneously with the first separation. The sieving step and the first separation may be carried out simultaneously by the use of a perforated conveyor belt.
