ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A cooking appliance has a sensor for detecting vapor generated from heated food and a control circuit which executes an arithmetic operation on the heated state of food according to signal outputs from the sensors and controls the heating source on the basis of the result of the arithmetic operation. The control circuit is operated so as not to read signal outputs from the sensor for a specified period of time after the food is reversed and/or its position is changed before the sensor detects the heated state detection point.
