Abstract of the Disclosure A process is disclosed for continuously preparing dialkyl disulfides and dialkyl polysulfides by reacting at elevated temperature and in the presence of a solid, particulate catalyst an alkene and hydrogen sulfide in a first reaction zone, and then passing the reactor effluent into a second reaction zone where it is reacted at elevated temperature with molten, elemental sulfur in the presence of a solid, particulate catalyst.
