A-15,925 SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REMOVING SULFUR AND CARBON MONOXIDE FROM GASES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A system and method for removing sulfur and carbon monoxide from process gases in which air is mixed with the gases at a temperature and environment to combust the combus- tible constituents in the gases. The resulting product gases are then passed through a bed of adsorbent material to adsorb the sulfur in the gases after which the gases are passed in a heat exchange relation with water to raise the temperature of the water.
