TITLE OF THE INVENTION: PROCESS FOR PRODUCING ELECTRODE SUBSTRATE FOR USE IN FUEL CELLS ABSTRACT: A process is described for producing a porous carbonaceous electrode substrate provided with elongated holes opening from one side to the opposite side of the electrode substrate through generally the central region of the thick- ness of the substrate, for use in fuel cells. According to the novel feature, the holes are formed by inserting a high polymeric substance in the configuration of the desired holes when forming the substrate and calcining the hardened sub- striate to remove the polymeric substance and leave the holes.
