ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus for the electrodeposition of electrically insulating coatings according to the present invention comprises means for causing an electrodeposition paint containing mica to flow extremely slowly from the top to the bottom of an electrodeposition tank past an object to be coated by electrodepostion. Compared with electrodeposition apparatuses which employ horizontal flow of electrodeposition paint from one side of a tank to the other, the flow speed is lower and there is no tendency for electrodeposition to occur faster on thoses surfaces of the object which face upstream in the flow than on those surfaces which face downstream. A highly uniform insulating coating having a high mica content can be produced using this electrodeposition apparatus.
