Abstract of the Disclosure There are disclosed a novel process for preparing maltose derivatives. This new process is characterized by allowing crystalline alpha-maltose, specifically, that with an alpha-maltose isomer content of 55% or higher, to react with a reagent under anhydrous conditions. According to this process, high-quality maltose derivatives can be obtained easily and at a consistently high yield.
