ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An aqueous composition is provided herein for the treatment of damaged and destroyed tissue for minimizing scarring in a patient suffering from burns. The composition comprises an intramuscularly-injectable aqueous composition containing a pharmaceutically-acceptable salt of procaine, preferably in an amount of 50 mg to 2.5 g, and polyvinylpyrollidone having a molecular weight between 5,000 and 50,000, preferably an amount of 100 mg to 5g.
