ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel fresh produce container with a novel automatic bottom and a novel built-in interlocking top closure system is disclosed. The container body member is usually of poly-coated paper-board and formed from an integral blank comprising top closure flaps articulated to the top part of wall members, the top closure flaps, when folded into closing position, interlocking to secure the content stored therein, while creating a strong support for the stacking of other such containers, each closure member containing defined areas for decorative ventilation cut-outs, as well as for interlocking component cut-outs. The same integral blank also comprises the bottom closure elements articulated to the bottom part of wall members. These elements, when folded into their proper positions may then be fastened together in a functional way, thus providing for a serviceable container. The same integral blank also comprises special corner members, each running parallel to side part and between two wall members, said wall members being also comprised in the integral blank, and each articulated to a side part and between two corner members, which corner members provide for added strength to the erect container while creating sufficient inside spacing to accommodate all paper-board thicknesses, thus preventing damage by tearing at crease scores when the finished container is stored in its planar configuration (or collapsed position). The same integral blank also provides, by way of design, for an interstacking type of container having the shape of an inverted truncated pyramid outwardly and in cross-section. The combination of the container, with its top closure system, and its automatic-bottom mechanism, along with its special corner members, and the specifications of the particulars in shape, in functions, and in design, and in ventilation system, and method of storing produce therein are also disclosed, and form a part of the invention.
