1749/US2290 ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE Hardener components which crosslink through tran- sesterification comprising (A) a KNOEVENAGEL reaction product of a carbonyl compound and a compound such as the diester of malonic acid reacted in a MICHAEL-addition reaction with (B) a substituted oxazolidine carrying a secondary amino group, and where the reaction product of (A) and (B) is thereafter reacted through the methylene groups with (C) a polyisocyanate is described. The hardener components are par- ticularly suitable for use in water-dilutable cationic paint binders.
