Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention relates to certain new substituted phenyl triazolyl-vinyl ketones, to a process for their preparation and to their use as fungicides. The compounds correspond to the formula Image in which R is methyl, ethyl, isopropyl, alkyl with more than 3 carbons, an optionally substituted cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, phenoxyphenyl or phenylalkyl radical, X is halogen or an optionally substituted phenyl or phenoxy radical, and n is 0, 1, 2 or 3. Acid addition salts and metal salt complexes are also included. The compounds can be obtained by reaction of a substituted phenyl triazolyl-vinyl ketone, an organomagnesium compound in the presence of a solvent and, if appropriate, in the presence of a catalyst. The active compounds are suitable for use as plant protection agents.
