ABSTRACT: Magnetic-tape cassette. In a magnetic-tape cassette in which the magnetic tape (16) extends along a side wall of the cassette in which at least one opening is formed through which a magnetic head (39) can be inserted to co-operate with the magnetic tape and the magnetic tape is pressed against the head face of said magnetic head by an elastic pressure element (29, 30) arranged inside the cassette, the pressure element is adapted to co-operate with only a part of the width of the magnetic tape, in which part of the magnetic tape the track (43, 45) to be scanned by the magnetic head extends.
